Project work sits earlier in the year on the same national timetable: Creative Arts & Sports project work framed across May–July, and Pre-Technical Studies and Agriculture projects framed through July. Written week does not reopen those project windows.

Household day plan

1. Night before — pack pens, permitted instruments, assessment identification documents, and water. Sleep early; do not cram past exhaustion.
2. Travel — plan to be at the centre with margin for rain and traffic. Rehearsal day is the time to test the route.
3. Seating — be in the room 15 minutes before each paper. Late arrival needs a satisfactory reason to the supervisor; papers more than half an hour late are exceptional only.
4. Before writing — check that every page of the question paper is printed; report defects immediately. Write name, assessment number and date clearly.
5. Ink and instruments — answers in blue or black ink (fountain or ballpoint). No erasable pens. Pencils for diagrams or MCQ shading only. Bring maths and drawing instruments needed for the day’s papers. Only KNEC-printed mathematical tables; calculators must be non-programmable where allowed.
6. During the paper — follow question limits on the front page. Number answers clearly. Protect your work. No communication, notes, or unauthorised materials.
7. At stop time — ensure name, assessment number, signature and date are on the answer booklet before handing in. Do not remove papers or answer sheets from the room.
8. Devices — phones and other electronic devices are banned in examination centres. Possession can cancel results.

• Mathematics / Pre-Technical days — geometry set; non-programmable calculator only if permitted; KNEC mathematical tables only.
• Science days — know whether the session is 905/1 or 905/2; Friday afternoon is Paper 2.
• Religious Education — CRE, IRE or HRE share the Friday midday slot; the learner sits only their registered option.

Parent checklist for the next four weeks

1. Save the official timetable and the school’s centre instructions in one folder.
2. Confirm the learner’s registered papers (especially KSL vs Kiswahili, and CRE/IRE/HRE).
3. Diary rehearsal 23 October and each paper morning/afternoon block 26–30 October.
4. Replace dying pens and missing geometry pieces now — not on the morning of Mathematics.
5. Agree a no-phone rule for the exam centre week; arrange how the learner will be collected.
6. Keep revision short and scheduled; protect sleep in the final week.
