KMTC 678 Jobs Close 30 October 2026: What Lecturers and Health Professionals Should Do Before Applying

KMTC has advertised 678 jobs at its headquarters and campuses, and online applications close on Friday, 30 October 2026. Nurses, clinical officers and other health professionals aiming for the 200 Lecturer II (Nursing) and 105 Lecturer II (Clinical Medicine) posts should check the requirements and start gathering certificates and clearances now.

Shupavu Education Desk · 6 October 2026

What this means. Most of the 678 posts are lecturer jobs at job grade KMTC 8. Applications are online only, hard copies will not be accepted, and only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. Because offers depend on clearance certificates, applicants who start the paperwork late risk losing a post they have already won.

Which KMTC Posts Are Open

Teaching posts make up the biggest share, but technical, administrative and support roles are also on the list.

  • Lecturer II (Nursing) — 200 posts, the largest group.
  • Lecturer II (Clinical Medicine) — 105 posts.
  • 20-post lecturer groups — Orthopaedic and Trauma Medicine, Community Health, Health Records and Information Technology, and Radiography and Imaging.
  • Other lecturer posts — Occupational Therapy, Nutrition and Physiotherapy (15 each), Medical Engineering (12), Community Oral Health (10), and five each in fields including Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health Sciences and Optometry.
  • Senior Lecturer — five posts at job grade KMTC 6.
  • Clinical and technical roles — including Registered Nurse III (10), Registered Clinical Officer III (5) and technologists in pharmacy, laboratory, radiography and medical engineering.
  • Administration and support — including Administrative Officer II (15), Assistant Office Administrator III (20), Records Management Assistant III (20), Supply Chain Management Officer II (10) and Librarian II (10).

Published lists differ on a few titles: some show the five Senior Lecturer posts as Dentist and others as Pharmacy, and some include Mortuary Science lecturers. Check the exact title, advert number and requirements on the KMTC recruitment portal before applying.

Open KMTC posts: 200 Nursing and 105 Clinical Medicine lecturers lead the 678 vacancies.

How to Apply Correctly

A complete, honest online application is the only route to the shortlist.

  • Use the portal — apply through recruit.kmtc.ac.ke. Hard-copy applications will not be accepted.
  • Pick the right advert — match the job description, grade and requirements to your own qualifications and experience.
  • Fill every field — give all the information the advert asks for. False information is an offence.
  • List only certificates you hold — do not include qualifications you will not have obtained by 30 October.
  • Prepare originals — shortlisted candidates present their original national ID, academic and professional certificates and transcripts at the interview.
  • Start clearances early — before an offer letter, successful candidates must provide KRA, EACC, HELB and credit reference bureau clearances and a valid DCI certificate of good conduct.
  • Do not canvass — lobbying for a post leads to automatic disqualification.

How to apply: choose the right advert, complete the online form, and prepare originals and clearances early.

What this is not. This is a staff recruitment, not a student intake. It does not reopen KMTC course applications, which run through the national placement service. It is also separate from TSC teacher recruitment, so school teachers should not treat it as a TSC vacancy.

KMTC Application Checklist

  • Advert number — note the exact title and number of the post you are applying for.
  • CV and profile — update your work history, registration with your professional body and referees.
  • Certificates — scan academic and professional certificates and transcripts in clear copies.
  • National ID — confirm the details match your certificates.
  • Clearances — request KRA, EACC, HELB, CRB and DCI documents now, since they take time.
  • Submission proof — save the confirmation after submitting the online application.
  • Deadline — submit well before Friday, 30 October 2026, not on the last night.
  • Keep this file separate from your TSC, county or hospital job applications, so each set of documents matches its own advert.
  • Refuse anyone selling forged materials / brokers / paid shortcuts — fake certificates are a criminal offence, and no one can sell you a KMTC job.

KMTC application checklist: advert number, CV, certificates, ID, clearances and proof of submission.

Next step. Today, open the KMTC recruitment portal, note the advert number for your post, and request the clearance certificates that take longest to process.
